Well, it seems that at least one person has been reading my blog:
Bernie Sanders, the independent senator from Vermont, is usually referred to as the only socialist in the US Congress. If being socialist means wanting a level playing field in which we all have an equal opportunity to contribute to society, you can definitely keep calling me a socialist.

You've got a point Steve but it's even worse as anything they don't understand or haven't been exposed to is automatically considered bad. Socialism is as easily conflated with nazism as being a communist is with being a Muslim. Their ignorance wasn't so dangerous in the good times but now that they're on the wrong side of the empire curve it doesn't bode well for the world as there's nothing as dangerous as a scared and blind superpower.
